Michael L. Lenkin, Owner of Lenkin Enterprises, Inc., a structural engineering and consulting firm, received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cornell University in 1986 and his M.E. in Civil Engineering from Cornell University in 1987. Mr. Lenkin has been practicing engineering since graduating from Cornell University in 1987. He became licensed as a Professional Engineer in 1990, and is currently licensed as a Professional Engineer in 26 states plus the District of Columbia. Upon graduating from Cornell, Mr. Lenkin continued his career with KCE Structural Engineers, P.C. in Washington, DC. After several years with KCE, Mr. Lenkin continued his career working for Blake Construction Company to construct the Fort Belvoir Headquarters Complex, and then for M. A. Mortenson Company constructing the Main Terminal Addition at Dulles International Airport. Mr. Lenkin was initially hired by Miller & Long Co., Inc. to help construct the Carolina Panthers Stadium, and remained with Miller & Long after the stadium was completed, leaving Miller & Long Co., Inc. as a Senior Vice President in 2019. Mr. Lenkin has experience working on hundreds of projects, including many private and government facilities, in the Mid-Atlantic region. In addition to his work experience, Mr. Lenkin is twice a past President of the National Capital Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (NCC-ACI), is past chairperson of the Structural Engineers Association of Metropolitan Washington (SEA-MW), and was a member of the Board of Directors for the District of Columbia Students Construction Trades Foundation (DCSCTF). Mr. Lenkin is currently on the George Washington University Advisory Board for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the Advisory Council for the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Cornell University. Mr. Lenkin is currently a member of AISC, ASCE, ACI, NCC-ACI, and SEAMW.
Presentation Description:
Data Center construction has been the rage of the concrete construction industry for the last couple/few years. This presentation will highlight owner key requirements and floor performance expectations, floor flatness, slab design, loading and joint layout, mix selection, shrinkage control, and fiber reinforcement, Placement practice, curing, finishing, and surface protection, and ESD flooring, durability, sustainability and maintenance.

Michael Mahoney PE of the Euclid Chemical Co.
Michael Mahoney is a Professional Engineer and the Director of National Business Development and Engineering Services for the Euclid Chemical Company. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, he was previously a Business Development Manager and the Director of Marketing and Technology for Euclid’s concrete fiber product line, managing marketing, research, strategic initiatives and product development for their entire fiber reinforcement portfolio. Mr. Mahoney is a Fellow and member of the American Concrete Institute and has served on various committees for NPCA, ASTM and Ohio Concrete and is also a past president of the Fiber Reinforced Concrete Association. In 1997, he obtained his M.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, Halifax, Canada.
Mr. Mahoney has co-authored several papers on the subjects of FRC, shotcrete, carbon footprint of fiber materials and innovative bridge systems and currently provides education on new technologies within the concrete construction industry
